Who we are
A small team that takes the long view
We’re a small, senior team based in Hertfordshire, building websites for businesses that want a partner rather than a supplier. We take the time to understand how you actually work, tell you the truth about what will and won’t help, and stay around long after the site goes live.
The long view
We’re not built for quick wins or projects handed over and forgotten. Some of the businesses we look after have been with us for well over a decade, and that is exactly how we like it.
The longer we work with a business, the more useful we become: we learn how it runs, where it’s heading, and where a website can genuinely move the needle. Most of our new work still comes the old-fashioned way, through people we already work with recommending us to someone they know.
Our background
Nialto didn’t begin in web design. It began in business, running and growing companies, and learning first-hand how much a clear strategy matters. The websites came later, and the instinct for what actually helps a business grow came with them.
It’s why we treat a website as a business tool rather than a brochure: something that tells your full story, answers the questions people really have, reassures them, and gives them a clear reason to get in touch. And when a business needs more than an off-the-shelf site, a bespoke platform, an integration, ongoing SEO, we build and look after that too.
Our team
There is no account manager passing messages along here. You deal directly with the people doing the work, and between the three of us we cover the strategy, the build and everything that keeps it all running.
Strategy & direction
Leads the strategy side, drawing on a background in engineering and business, and years spent helping companies grow before ever building a website. Usually your first point of contact, and the one asking the awkward but useful questions.
Lead developer
Full-stack and fluent across a range of languages, and writing code since he was young. He builds the bespoke platforms and integrations many studios would shy away from, and has a knack for making complicated things behave simply. If a system needs to talk to another system, it is usually Toby making it happen.
Operations & finance
Keeps the business running behind the scenes, looking after the finances, the admin and the details that are easy to overlook. She also has a sharp eye for design, and her feedback has quietly improved more of our work than she would ever take credit for.
How we work
We only take on what we can support properly. We’d rather work with a handful of businesses well, and stay genuinely involved, than churn through projects and lose the thread. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll say so, and point you somewhere better if we can.
